R.W. Bro. Robert Armstrong

The Arthur Square Class of Instruction was saddened to hear of the death of R.W. Bro. Robert J. Armstrong on Saturday the 9th August. He Became a member of the class in 1965 and was the longest serving member of the class until his death. Despite his many duties in the Masonic Order, he was a very frequent attender, recruiting many members from his Mother Lodge 657. In the early years, he was accompanied by his close friend the late R.W. Bro. Billy Kidney.

He was Chairman of the class for many years, a role he took great pleasure from. He joined the class on a number of accasion on our annual trip to Scotland and also to London in April 1993. He was always on hand with advice for the various class leaders and members and his knowledge on Craft Ritual was alwyas there to call upon, having served as the Assistant Grand Secretary for the Grand Lodge of Instruction.

His passing is a great loss to the Arthus Square Class and to the Masonic Order as a Whole.
